Chapter VII: The Art of Scrying and the Fragmentation of the Self "To see beyond the veil is to risk becoming lost within it."

Scrying and experience of being nature As I see beyond the physical world, stretching my consciousness across the threads of existence to glimpse distant places, hidden truths, and the secrets of the natural world. my immense focus and a willingness to surrender myself to the flow of the unseen forces of nature.

The Weaving of the Self Using the delicate balance between the self and the world beyond. To scry effectively, I must extend my consciousness like a spider's web, casting threads of awareness into the fabric of nature. These threads allow me to see, hear, and feel what lies beyond my physical form. However, this act is not without risk. "The more threads I cast, the thinner my essence becomes. To see all is to risk becoming nothing." In my early years, I mastered the art of scrying by anchoring my consciousness to specific elements of nature: the roots of ancient trees, the currents of rivers, the whispers of the wind. But as my power grew, so did my ambition. I sought to expand my awareness further, to become one with the natural world itself. This led me to develop a spell I called "The Weaving of the Self."

The Spell of Fragmentation "The Weaving of the Self" is a spell of unparalleled power and danger. It allows the caster to disperse their consciousness across the natural world, merging with the earth and living things of the land. In doing so, the caster gains the ability to see and influence the world on a grand scale. "To weave oneself into the fabric of nature is to risk unraveling entirely. The threads of the self may become scattered, lost among the elements, never to be whole again."

Stopping Fragmentation Casting "The Weaving of the Self" without proper preparation is ill-advised. Merging oneself entirely with the natural world, to become one with the cycles of life and death runs the risk of spreading too thinly. Essence becoming fragmented, scattered across the earth, throughout the essence of nature itself. "I am the tree that blooms out of season, the river that whispers my name, the wind that carries my scent, the flame that flickers with my thoughts. I am everywhere and nowhere, a shadow of my former self."

In the Feywild, the Life Tree is a legendary entity, a colossal tree that stands at the heart of the Eternal Glade. It is said to be the source of all life in the Feywild, its roots stretching deep into the earth, its branches reaching toward the heavens, and its sap flowing like the blood of the world itself. The Life Tree is a symbol of balance, growth, and the eternal cycle of life and death. I have become accustomed to using the Tree of Life in the Faywild as an anchor, to help me return to my human form as its influence can be felt in this plane of existence.

Spell Description The Weaving of the Self is a spell of unparalleled power and danger, allowing the caster to merge their consciousness with the natural world. By casting this spell, the caster disperses their essence across nature and the fabric of life itself. This spell in weaker form is often used by powerful druids, archfey, or sorcerers who seek to transcend their physical form and become one with nature. However, the spell comes with immense risks at higher levels of magic, as the caster's essence can become fragmented, scattered across the elements, and lost forever. Only I have this ability to keep myself from being lost unable to return.

When cast, the physical body dissolves into a shimmering mist, and consciousness spreads across the natural world. Gaining the ability to perceive and influence the environment through the elements comes at the cost that you lose their physical form and cannot interact with the world in a conventional way.
